Exclusive Series Porsche 911 fastest and dumbest ever

June 9, 2017

0-200 in 9.6 seconds! Yes, money buys speed, fancy leather and a stupid watch.

As is reported in Auto Express, German giants Porsche have released a new and exclusive Porsche 911 Turbo S that is officially the fastest 911 ever made. The 500 unit series will cost R700 000 more than the standard 911 Turbo S on which it is based, which is cheeky considering that they're not too different at all.

The standard 911 Turbo S races to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds, as does this the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. The former boasts a top speed of 329km/h, as does the Exclusive Series. So what in all that's Holy are you paying R700K more for despite a cool paint job and the usual gimmicks that manufacturers reserve for anything "exclusive" as they bide time until the latest model finally arrives?

Well, it's in the 0-200km/h dash where the difference lies, and what the 20 more kilowatts will get you if you buy the Exclusive Series instead: It's there where three/tenths of a second are shaved and confidently, what you can use to leave those non-exclusive losers in the dust, centimeters behind. Other than that, fancier leather and few styling adjustments all add up to neatly fill in the monumental price difference.

Oh yes, that and an accompanying Exclusive Series watch, which will only be offered to Exclusive Series buyers who, if they forget they're in an over-priced Porsche, can conveniently look to their arm for the tech to remind them. Unfortunately however, the watch is not included in the price and you will have to shell out an additional R145 000 to have it, on top of the R700K more you've just spent.

Total spend? Approximately R3,3Mil - the amount of a small government tender.

Ah, thanks Porsche. You're too kind.
