Audi's new 449kW R8 convertible monster is the tasteless cherry on top of a boring decade.
As is reported in the world of cars, Audi believes that today is a day in June, which is right except for the fact that they also believe that this June is a month in the year 2006, which was the month and year that the world got its first and extraordinary look at the fantastic Audi R8. Eleven years later Audi is still forcing it down our throat with this here new derivative. It arrives - flavourless - with some extra kilowatts and an extra word in its name - "Plus".
This is the Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus, which looks every bit the same as it did in 2006 and we're not entirely sure why Audi cannot seem to make anything new after a decade of making awesome cars, which of course included the original R8. Eleven years later and Gusheshe is sick and tired of seeing the same R8, and it hopes that Audi will retire its face soon for the sake of the R8's legacy, which is currently being spat on the longer its kept on life support.
This is not the first time we've been disappointed with Audi's boring decade. Listen to what we had to say about the crisis at Audi just three months ago.
