Mustang "burnout button" now standard in all Mustangs

June 30, 2017

The electronic line-lock feature will now be standard in all Ford Mustangs, including the EcoBoosts.

As is reported in Car Magazine, the awesome and essential electronic line-lock feature that helps you burn through rubber like Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 seconds is now officially available in all Mustangs, including the one you shouldn't buy - the 2.3-litre 4 cylinder EcoBoost, which someone at Ford once upon a recent time thought was worth producing.

Regardless, it too now offers you whiplash with the flick of a button, which is never a bad thing, unless of course you're not expecting it.

“We introduced line-lock on EcoBoost Mustangs because we didn’t want those customers to miss out,” said Mark Schaller, Ford Mustang marketing manager.

“The number of people choosing EcoBoost power continues to grow globally, and with the increased torque and new features coming on the new Mustang, customers will not be disappointed.”

Well. At least there's some life then in the fake Mustang, even if beneath the skin you're all Mondeo and boring. And yes Ford drivers of the EcoBoost Mustang - we have driven the EcoBoost version but obviously, you haven't driven the V8, because buying the EcoBoost Mustang after all - electronic line-lock regardless - is still like buying pitch side tickets to a Springbok/All Black game and then, well, watching it on your cell phone.

That aside, Car Magazine has been awesome enough to share this gif. which shows us the dash graphic enabled when the burnout switch is ON, just in case you don't notice the burning rubbery smoke all about you.
