It's every kid's dream (and ours!) - a real Nissan GTR controlled by a Playstation remote.
As is reported in AutoExpress, Nissan have manufactured the ultimate toy: They've teamed up with the racing game Gran Turismo, and a company called JLB Design Ltd., and created a Playstation-remote-controlled superlight Nissan GTR that pushes out 404kW and races to 100km/h in a claimed 2.8 seconds.
Controlled from a helicopter, and at times from the sidelines or from a virtual cockpit, the remote-controlled Nissan was driven by Jann Mardenborough, who despite also being a professional racing car driver, was born in 1991, which means he is well-embedded into the Playstation era. A Playstation remote is probably as easy on his fingers as a steering wheel is, as he is also one of the best Gran Turismo players in the world and was recruited specifically for this release.
Racing around Britain's iconic Silverstone track, Jann cracked a 1:17:47, which we are led to believe is not too far off from what could have been achieved with a real racer in the cockpit. Fortunately, you will be happy to know that there are safety precautions in place, which shut down the engine and smack the brakes in case you get all GTA instead of Gran Turismo.
I know...disappointing! All of us born this side of '85 just sighed, and saw our dreams of racing and smashing a GTR about, just crumble.
Check this out though. This video is sick!
