ARES Project Panther is 70s sort of pretty

ARES design, a custom car-building company based in Italy, has resurrected the iconic De Tomaso Pantera super car and created this. It's beautiful.

As is reported in AutoExpress, ARES design, which is a car-building company you buy from when you have way too much money and want something that nobody else has, has designed a sports car based on the platform of a Lamborghini Huracan, but takes its design inspiration from the iconic De Tomaso Pantera super car of the 1970s.

Here's the icon in the flesh!

Needless to say, this modern rendition looks as good as the 70s classic and also features its pop-up lights, which you will be intrigued to know is the first time pop-up lights have featured in a production car since 2004. It goes without saying that it will be produced in extremely limited numbers, which is probably for the best.

The last thing you want when you buy one is for someone down the road to buy one too, because there ain't enough space in one country for two of these exceptionally good looking machines and that's the way it should be! Also, you probably just spent a ridiculous amount of ridiculous on it and that level of cash demands a certain amount of exclusivity.

ARES Design have truly put themselves on the map with this one, and made us wish that we lived in a world where all cars looked like the best lookers throughout history, but with modern enough underpinnings to rip our faces off. Be assured, the Panther will be awesome to drive as it is quite literally a Lamborghini underneath and that can only be a good thing.

As for its name, the Project Panther - it is sick! It might very well take the cake for the coolest name of the year, in a year that has so far seen the Rolls Royce Dawn Black leading on that front.

Imagine it.

"What do you drive?"

"Project Panther. In blue."

Booom!

When will it arrive? Expect it in the second half of 2018.
