5 Dream Machines by ARES design!

The bespoke coachbuilder, based in Modena, Italy, takes famous cars, redraws them and makes them your own.

ARES Design

ARES design, as professed on their website is a "a coachbuilding company that has the ambition, skills, technologies and techniques to produce some of the world’s most spectacular cars. [Their] goal is always to stretch beyond the simply bespoke and help [their] customers realize their own visions."

Fancy.

Now, with a new 18000 square-meter coachbuilding facility based in Modena, it would seem that fancy has got even more fancy. No doubt, ARES has been making waves across the motoring world for what they're already doing: Taking pretty and iconic cars and making them even prettier. Now though, they're all juiced up and their offering is growing.

Of course, if you don't think that their cars are beautiful, at the very least you'll find them interesting. Some of them are one-offs, but others are available to order in numbers so small that you will likely only ever see them on pages like these, unless of course you're inclined to order one if given permission to, buy one if you can afford the zeroes, and import one if you have the soul to deal with South African customs.

Of course, there's a whole lot more to ARES though than what any ol' panel beater from Germiston can do so it's more than just buying a "custom": They can quite literally interpret your dream if you want them to, and in a high-tech facility based the heart of the car design capital of the world, Modena, Italy, they won't just build your dream, they'll interpret the motoring fantasy you didn't even know you had.

Here then to inspire you are 5 dream machines by ARES Design!

5. ARES Design Coupe for the Bentley Mulsanne

This reinterpretation of the Bentley Mulsanne has seen the icon drop 2 doors under the ARES badge. Fitting, only two will be built anyway for the duet of very rich and luxurious customers who ordered them.

4. ARES Design for Land Rover Defender

ARES' take on the Land Rover Defender offers beefier edges and an interior designed just for you. They've dropped in a V8 too by the way, which we suspect you'll love.

3. ARES X-Raid

This brilliant looking X-Raid is actually a Mercedes G-Class under the skin with an extensively reworked face and panels to boot. It arrives with an outrageous 567kW stemming from a V8 of mega-proportions. Nice bro.

2. ARES design for Porsche 911 GT3 Targa

The most noticeable change here are the shark gills about the body, which compliment several engine upgrades set to embarrass a standard Targa, inside and out.

1. ARES Design for Corvette Stingray

Perhaps the most beautiful design of all time is the Corvette Stingray so it is probably why ARES Design hasn't touched it. Everything beneath the skin though is as modern as a 21st century sports car, which makes it downright perfect. Sad news though: Only 1 was made.

Bonus! ARES Project Panther

The Project Panther is a retro take on the famous 70s super car, De Tomaso Pantera, and will sit on a Lamborghini Huracan platform. In the December issue of GT MAG we suggested it could be the prettiest super car released this century. Are we right?
