An updated Porsche 911 GT3 RS is cool enough. But, get it with the Competition Package and you’ll get a free fire extinguisher too!
Readied for a Geneva unveil is the updated Porsche 911 GT3 RS and in bright green it looks like it will take your hand off! It resembles a green viper – pasop – so if you’re brave enough, lean forward and feel its skin.
Yes, this is the top of the top of the 911 and it is likely to be the last addition of it before the new 911 finally unveils itself in the months following this one.
But before then, you will not be disappointed: 0-100 in 3.2 seconds and a screaming flat-six, which redlines at 9000rpm and tap-outs at 312km/h, will leave you more than satisfied, especially if you get the Competition Package, which includes seat belts for a fighter pilot, a roll cage and free fire extinguisher.
It’s like feeling the skin of the viper, but just before you do somebody hands you a vile of anti-venom just in case.
It's hectic! It's murder! 'It sounds like fun,' he said with a sinister smile. Jeepers Creepers!
So what else then, you ask, about a car that pretty much looks the same as all the others?
Well, there’s the Weissach package too, which sounds as ominous. But what that is, is simple enough: It cleans out any unnecessary weight and replaces heavy parts with carbon fibre parts. Then, it replaces the conventional mags with magnesium ones, which if you didn’t know before this revealing moment, is a lighter alternative to your 17s China.
So until Geneva then we suppose. Until the moment you’ll need a fire extinguisher to put out a R2.5 million crash. Thanks Porsche!
