This is Aston Martin's new top of the top!

The DBS Superleggera is Aston Martin's new flagship. It makes the Ferrari 812 Superfast look like a dog.

It's not often that GT MAG starts out with the stats. But, when something is this pretty, we like to let it simmer before we attempt to capture it. So, to let you enjoy it, here are the numbers if you care to know:

533kW and 900N of torque are pushed through a twin-turbo 5,2-litre V12, which is a lot. 3.4 seconds to 100km/h is fast. 6.4 seconds to 160km/h is faster. And then there's this: 340 km/h top speed, which is a nod-your-head commendable sort of good.

Still, and sadly perhaps, these kind of numbers, although mightily impressive, make you appreciate coming electric super cars even more, but let's not talk about that today. Let's not spoil Aston Martin's day. This is their day. Their big day.

Indeed, it's not every day that a premium brand releases a flagship and it's not every day that one looks as good as this.

Yes, yes, yes. Now to that. The DBS Superleggera is absolutely stunning. And handsome. And beautiful. And makes its direct competition, the Ferrari 812 Superfast, look like an unfortunate Italian brak who was raised by the local cafe owner.

The 812 Superfast. Jik.

Yes, Ferrari could learn a thing or two from Aston's lines, especially in this elite GT sector. Because, we ask -

would you rather cruise the Karoo in this Aston, beautifully sculpted, or in a Ferrari that looks like a flattened van, with the sniggering face of Coyote?

Now, usually we really like Ferrari, even more so than Aston, but it would take a huge ask to consider a Superfast over this because, well, we are not blind. So, for the sake of the visually-impaired, know this - the Aston is far prettier and that there is as objective as it comes.

Of course, Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, would agree: “DBS Superleggera not only marks the return of a great Aston Martin name, but signals our return to the very pinnacle of the Super GT sector. Handsome beyond measure, its lightweight carbon-composite and aluminium body is sculpted into a shape with tremendous presence and charisma.

“Thanks to the remarkable torque available from its twin-turbo V12, DBS Superleggera also packs a breath-taking punch, yet its dynamics have been carefully honed to engage drivers of all ability levels. Immaculately styled, obsessively engineered and outrageously potent, the new DBS Superleggera is every inch the Aston Martin flagship."

Well, we couldn't agree more Andy. Such a car calls for a celebration and surely nothing could spoil it now...

Except for 50 limited-run Tag Heuer watches to match the interior of your choosing, which, of course, will make you look like a twat.

Ah yes. There it is. Not even the price tag, northwards of R4-million could make you look cool wearing that.
