After extensive testing in South Africa, the new Macan is finally here. Behold: An insight into the new 911!
The new Porsche Macan has finally been unveiled and it hints at the backside of the new 911, which is probably more exciting than this news.
Or is it?
As we recently revealed, the Macan makes up a huge slice of Porsche's sales nowadays so perhaps you are more excited than we think you are. Regardless, whether you like this new Macan or not, we're sorry to say that you'll probably just have to suck it up because you're going to be seeing them everywhere!
Yes, 37% of all Porsches sold now are Macans - and if that doesn't tell you all about the modern motoring world, well, what does?
Yes, people now all over Planet Earth seem to prefer their Porsches raised, which a decade ago was, quite frankly, sacrilegious. Now though, it's as staple as Instagram and as annoying as Twitter.
But, there's no need to fear because beneath that bonnet, albeit on the wrong side, is a motor that is still very much Porsche and one that still does very Porschey things.
Like delivering on power. Yes, the top-of-the-top Twin Turbo produces 324kW and likely hits 100 in around 4 seconds. That's our guess at least, but when we're proven right, you too might look at the Macan, in this here striking blue, and think, 'well, why would I want to sit on the tar?'
Don't worry. We might have a little of the same feeling so don't beat yourself up! We're human too...
