AK-47 maker, Kalashnikov, now makes an electric car!

September 28, 2018

Yes indeed. It's called the CV-1 concept and it's the ugliest car in the world.

It all sounds like pretty standard stuff. Vodka-filled Russians and the idea of an electric car. So they take a pencil to a serviette and draw this. The strangest looking machine that we've ever seen and we can't help but wonder if it's trying to distract us from something very illegal. Or at the very least, something very scary that they don't want us to see.

Look, you can't blame us. Gun-makers don't usually build cars, but who's to say that they can't?

Well, us. They can't. This thing is absolutely hideous and Top Gear UK was spot on to call it a Gillette Razor come Lada station wagon. But, what they've missed is this:

This car looks very gangster. And we'd be surprised if it didn't show face in Bedfordview sometime as a new addition to an environment-loving mobster's garage.

Because remember, this is still an electric car that does environment-loving things. Like save the world. And race to 100km/h in 6 seconds without spewing a drop of carbon.

Well. We're not so sure to be frank because, environments aside, this atrocity still burns eye balls, which is very sore. For the soul, that is. And besides, we're not so sure that it does electric things at all, and not so sure of the sobriety of the man who thought this could compete with the likes of Tesla or anything else electric on Planet Earth.

Still, it is a car and we will say this. It does have a massive presence and at GT MAG we've always applauded a presence.

Even if this time we're forced to for fear of our lives...
