The hyper EV will challenge for the Nurburgring record and we're smiling from ear to ear.
When we first reported on the Aspark OWL last year we wondered what would come of it. Would it do what it promised? That is, would it hit 100km/h in under 2 seconds? Well, we don't know that just yet, but what we do know is this: They're confident enough to take it to the Nurburgring to give the NIO EP9 a dribbing, which is very good news.
If you remember from GT MAG's 2017 archives, the NIO EP9 is the fastest EV around the Nurburgring and one of the fastest cars of all time. So, if the OWL thinks it can do it, well, you'd bet your cuzzie's house that 0-100km/h in under 2 seconds is most likely very doable too.
The thing boasts 857kW, which, to put that in context, is nearly four times more powerful than the new Toyota Supra. Jip, just the sort of power that we love and just the sort of power that they'll need. Mate that to a 1,460kg car and what you get is a silent rocket capable of interstellar travel.
For R50 million, space travel is the least they can do!
The Nio EP9 should be kak'ing son!
